Learn how to create a culture of rigor in your school where you and your teachers know the attributes of rigor and how to design rigorous and engaging learning activities that meet the demands of the Common Core Curriculum. Learn how to systematically lead the creation of an authentic learning environment throughout your schools where ALL students are successfully engaged. Also, learn how to recognize and abandon the institutionalized school practices that stifle and inhibit rigor, authentic engagement and student responsibility for learning.

You will learn the distinct exemplary leadership practices, identified through a study of hundreds of high-performing schools, that every leader can start immediately. You will also learn specific strategies for implementing each practice effectively and a proven process for providing professional development for implementing these practices successfully in your school.  Throughout the symposium, participants will reflect on their current practices for increasing achievement as compared to the practices found pervasively in exemplary schools. The session provides an instructional framework for the common core curriculum and the rigor needed for student success with the new standards.  This event is ideal for education leaders and their leadership teams who are seeking ideas, exemplary practices, and replicable frameworks and models for increasing rigor and moving student achievement.
